A public cloud refers to a type of cloud computing in which cloud services and resources are made available to the general public or multiple organisations over the internet by a third-party cloud service provider. In a public cloud model, the infrastructure is owned, managed, and operated by the service provider, and users access computing resources on a shared, multi-tenant environment.
Examples of Public Cloud Services: AWS’s Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Microsoft Azure’s Virtual Machines (VMs), Google Cloud Platform’s Compute Engine, and various SaaS applications like Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) and Microsoft Office 365.
