Drop Shipping

Marketing glossary icon

Drop shipping is a retail fulfilment method where a business sells products without holding any physical stock. Instead, when a customer places an order, the retailer forwards it to a third-party supplier, usually a wholesaler or manufacturer, who ships the product directly to the customer.

This approach lowers upfront costs and reduces inventory risk, making it popular for online businesses. However, it can limit control over product quality, delivery times, and customer service.
